Prayer Reflection Video - 13 May
Open our eyes Lord
Verses:
Luke 24: 31
Then their eyes were opened and they recognised him, and he disappeared from their sight.
Reflection
In the Easter gospel stories, we're told of two of Jesus’ followers who made their way to their home village of Emmaus. and as they sat at table with an apparent stranger suddenly we're told in Luke chapter 24 and verse 31 their eyes were opened and they realised that their house guest who had accompanied them on a journey full of questions and confusion and disappointment, was none other than Jesus himself.
And right now many of our life journeys might also be full of questions and confusion and disappointments but in all of that Jesus is with us and so our prayer is this:
Prayer
Open our eyes Lord
Fix our gaze on the things of eternity
and help us to live our here and now in the light of your truth and promise
releasing our ambitions to the cause of your kingdom
confident in the gospel that you have called us to proclaim
