Prayer Reflection Video - 12 February
The Lord is gracious and compassionate
Verse:
Psalm 145: 8
Reflection
I know I’m not the only one whose life and faith have been shaped by John Colwell’s two fundamental theological questions: 'What kind of God?' and 'So what?'
In this season of prayer and stillness and reflection, I’ve found myself drawn back to these fundamentals, and drawn to verses that appear throughout the Old Testament: in Joel and Jonah, in 2 Chronicles and a number of times in Psalms. In Psalm 145: 8, where we read that ‘the Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love’.
I want a heart after God’s own, and I’m sure you do too, so we pray that we may each, and in our life together, be ever more gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
Prayer
God we praise you for all that you are.
And we give you thanks for the joy and privilege of being your children.
Reveal to us, by your Spirit, more of who you are, we pray -
That we may ever be shaped and formed to be more like the one who embodied and embodies all these things, our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
And this we pray in the name of the Father, son and Holy Spirit
Amen
