Do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God

Verse: Micah 6: 8

Those well-known words in Micah 6: 8 say, ‘He has told you, O mortal, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you? But to do justice, and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God’.
 
One commentary on this passage says that these are the starting point of our faith. Not the end point – not to be a comprehensive list – but are the foundation of what God requires.
 
So if we’re not doing these, it doesn’t matter what else we do, we will not be being obedient and faithful to God.

Prayer
Loving, living God
You have told us what is good
You have told us what you require of us
So Lord, may we all humbly submit to your direction
May we show others the mercy and kindness that you show to us
And may we seek your justice in every decision and action
And may we do this so you alone are glorified in and through us all, as Baptists together
In the name of Jesus
