Andy Caldwell appointed Webnet Regional Minister Team Leader
The Revd Andy Caldwell has been appointed as the new Webnet Regional Team Leader
Andy is currently the minister of Welcome Baptist Church in Heathfield, Sussex, and will succeed the Revd Nigel Coles, who is retiring in the summer.
Paul Jacobs, Webnet’s Chair of Trustees, said, ‘Andy is not only a gifted leader but also has a deep passion for discipleship, and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
‘We believe that under his leadership, we will continue to see lives transformed, churches strengthened, and communities impacted with the love of Christ.
‘We are so grateful to Nigel Coles for his faithful, visionary service to the Webnet family of churches, and are excited about the future of Webnet and the journey ahead.
‘As we step into this new season, we invite you to pray with us for Andy, for wisdom, grace, and boldness in leading our regional network.
‘Let us also pray for the Webnet team and all our churches across the West of England Baptist Network, amongst these changes.
‘We trust where God is leading us, and we look forward with expectation to all that He has in store!’
Andy described the call to Webnet as “incredibly exciting.”
'I am looking forward to working alongside the superb Webnet Hub Team, as well as Regional Ministers Lindsay Caplen and Alisdair Longwill. I am leaving church ministry to become a pastor to pastors, serving the Kingdom of God and Webnet.
'Please pray for Webnet in this new season - that I may bring godly energy and enthusiasm, wisdom and vision.'
Andy also acknowledged the sadness of his departure from Welcome Baptist Church, where he has served since 2014. He previously pastored the church from 1999-2005, before moving to Mutley Baptist Church in Plymouth, which he led as Senior Minister from 2005-2014.
'I will be saying goodbye to my beautiful, kind, godly, and thriving church family at Welcome Baptist Church, and to some of my closest friends. When I returned to Welcome, I was in many ways an exhausted and broken man, and their love, patience, encouragement, and gentleness have made me strong again in the Lord.
'Please pray for Welcome Baptist Church as we discern next steps. And also pray for us as a family, as we make this big move.'
