New staff at Bristol Baptist College 

Bristol Baptist College are delighted to announce two new members of staff, Chris Norden and Rhiannon Hamblin

The Revd Chris Norden has been offered and has accepted the role of Director of Ministerial Formation, in succession to the Revd Dr Tim Welch.

He will also teach New Testament. Chris is a graduate of Spurgeon’s College, a Baptist minister who was lead pastor at Haywards Heath for seven years.

He is currently completing PhD studies through Bristol Baptist College.

Chris says, ‘I’m excited but also deeply humbled at being invited to join the staff at Bristol. I look forward to serving in the crucial task of forming ministers of the gospel for which the College has such a strong reputation, and to being able to combine my particular love of the New Testament with teaching some of the practical aspects of ministry.’

Chris will take up his new post in January 2025.

The College says it is 'deeply indebted' to Tim for all he has given to the role and to successive generations of students. Tim will continue to serve as an Honorary Research Fellow.

Rhiannon Hamblin joins as Operations Manager in succession to Howard Wilson. Rhiannon is currently Head of Administration at Redland Church in Bristol.

Rhiannon says, ‘I am delighted to accept the position of Operations Manager at Bristol Baptist College and am really excited about starting the role in the new year. I have a strong sense of calling to this role, and am passionate to serve others and share God’s love through my work.’

 The College is grateful to Howard for all he has given in his period in the role. Like Chris, Rhiannon will take up her new post in January.

The College Principal, Peter Morden, says, ‘We’re excited at the prospect of Chris and Rhiannon joining the team here, as we continue with our core work of forming ‘able, evangelical, lively, and zealous’ gospel ministers for a new generation.’
