History made at Carter's Lane Baptist Church

A packed church earlier this month was delighted to welcome Dudley’s Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Alan and Mrs Win Taylor, and Archbishop Bernard Longley on an historic occasion

Carters Lane

The Mayor explained that the visit of a Roman Catholic Archbishop to a Baptist church was a highly significant event for the area. It showed the importance of churches working together.

Young and old at Carters Lane Baptist Church in Lapal, Halesowen, celebrated the annual harvest festival with an inspirational address from the Archbishop, and the opportunity to share several hundred pounds worth of food with the Black Country Food Bank.

The Archbishop, whose diocese extends from Reading in the south to north of the Potteries and is one of the largest in the country, described the visit as a wonderful opportunity to share in the weekend service.
