US creative calling for journalist

A Baptist journalist from the UK has been selected for the second year running to join an American mission trip helping churches communicate more effectively.

Catherine Burt, 34, of Portsmouth, Hampshire, joined Creative Missions’ team of church communication professionals, creatives and techies working with under-resourced churches to create sustainable solutions that better engage and communicate the gospel to their local communities.

CatherineThe 30-strong team gave up a week of their time to help 15 to 20 churches in Baltimore, between 17 and 23 May. Catherine, who works as Media Co-ordinator for The Girls’ Brigade England & Wales and attends North End Baptist Church, previously joined the group on a trip to Alaska in 2013 (pictured).

She says ‘Creative Missions is a really innovative idea – using people’s God-given skills to help churches communicate better by producing logos, websites, social media, videos and photography. It’s a real privilege to have been selected for this year’s trip and to help bring the gospel alive for people.’

She adds ‘What’s really exciting is that Creative Missions are considering a trip to the UK to work with churches here.'
