Grants for Quinquennial Inspections
From October 2020 - October 2021 Baptists Together offered grants funded by Historic England to cover up to 50% of the cost of a Quinquennial Inspection Report for churches with listed buildings in England.
We are delighted that this scheme has now been extended and another round of grants will be available in 2022.
The Scheme was part of a programme of increased support from us, in association with Historic England, for Baptist churches with listed buildings.
Why fund Quinquennial Inspections?
Quinquennial Inspection reports enable those who care for chapel buildings to:
-
Keep buildings in good condition by identifying defects
-
Access funding for maintenance and repair works
-
Undertake sustainable refurbishment by identifying hidden defects, access requirements and energy efficiency measures

In addition to supporting applicants in obtaining the extensive benefits of having an up-to-date Quinquennial Inspection Report, the project also gathered information on the condition of listed Baptist chapels across England, as well as the experience of those who care for them.
With this insight, we hope to develop further schemes of support, designed specifically to address the greatest and most common challenges faced by those who meet and worship in Listed Buildings.
