Demons cast out and Christians born in India

Almost 3,500 people in India have given their lives to Christ after watching the Jesus film in their villages in West Bengal and Punjab

A year ago I was not well and I was being attacked by demonic spirits. I tried many ways of being delivered from these demons – daily worshipping the idols and visiting other different Hindu and Sikh temples. I also had a small temple in my home.

None of these rituals freed me from the attacks of the demonic spirits. Many times I tried to kill myself, as the spirits were really controlling me. I did not know what was happening to me.

Watching a movie screened by BMS World Mission and our partners in India turned Amandeep’s life around. The film was projected onto a big screen in his village and Amandeep, who comes from a Sikh family, was excited to go and watch, as were his friends. They had never seen a film about Jesus before.

As I began to watch the movie, I was again attacked by evil spirits who urged me to leave the place. I was shocked to see that Jesus healed demon-possessed and sick people. As I continued to watch, I felt something very heavy being lifted from my body. At once, I understood that, while watching the movie, Jesus was working to release the demons from me.

When the film finished, Amandeep stood up and shared his testimony with everyone gathered to watch the film. After hearing his story, the BMS-supported workers running the film screening prayed with him and he became a Christian.

Watching the Jesus film

God performed a miracle. Amandeep’s story is one of almost 3,500 testimonies of lives transformed by Christ thanks to prayer-covered screenings of the Jesus film in unevangelised villages in two regions of India. The screenings were supported by BMS and run by one of our partners in the country. Through this project, we’ve helped enable 25 local church planters and evangelists, and shown the Jesus film to over 10,000 people. We praise God for the thousands of new believers that have been born in India through this project.

Amandeep no longer suffers from demonic attacks. He is healed, free, and a natural evangelist.

“I know that Jesus is the only true God and he alone can free us from all sin,” he says. “I have started to attend a church and to share my testimony with other people.”

Will you help us share the gospel with more unreached people in India by becoming a 24:7 India Partner today?

With thanks to Baptist Insurance, who are helping to support BMS work in India.
