This summer, partner with isolated Christians living in river communities along the Amazon by giving a gift to the BMS World Mission river pastors training centre appeal. You can meet two of the Christians who have already benefitted from the centre, which is run by BMS workers from the UK and Peru, in this two-minute video.

The Nauta Integral Mission Training Centre (NIMTC) is the fulfilment of a dream of river pastors to receive theological training and Christian support. Many of these Christians discovered the gospel thanks to missionaries who visited their villages. When those missionaries moved on, they left a handful of Christians with no support, living in communities only accessible by boat. Christians with no theological education – and in many cases little primary education – pastoring small, isolated churches.
 
Through NIMTC we’re providing Biblical education, training in areas such as hygiene and health, as well as Christian fellowship for pastors from these isolated rural communities. By supporting Peruvian Christians and connecting them with their brothers and sisters ? in Peru and, through your giving, around the world ? we’re showing them they’re not alone. They’re part of the body of Christ with us.

Being a pastor is tough – even in the most comfortable of circumstances. But for pastors in Peru’s Amazon who may not know any other Christian leaders, it is so much harder. Some live a ten-hour boat ride away from the nearest town, they have to work full-time as farmers or as a fishermen in order to survive, and have never had any training.
 
We want to see communities in the breathtaking Amazon region of Peru thrive, and the pastors we’re training can help make that happen. It doesn’t cost much to enable a pastor in Peru’s Amazon to train at NIMTC. Will you stand with us and invest in the future of the Church in the Peruvian rainforest today?
