My Father’s House – thank you!

If you gave to the 2015 BMS World Mission harvest appeal, Megan Barker and the patients of Surkhet Clinic in Nepal would like to thank you

Do you remember the story of Diya’s dad Ramu, whose life was devastated by a truck accident in which he broke his back? How Ramu lost his job and laid in bed all day, waiting to die, his muscles wasting away?

Many of you who watched My Father’s House, the BMS World Mission 2015 harvest resource, will know that the story of Diya and Ramu does not end there. Ramu’s life was transformed with the help of BMS occupational therapist Megan Barker and the staff at Surkhet Clinic in Nepal. Thanks to their treatment, his muscles have strengthened and he can wheel himself around in his wheelchair and stand with support. With a specially adapted home allowing him greater mobility, Ramu is far more independent and is earning once more, running a shop business with his wife Soni.

And the story gets even better, thanks to your generous support. We asked you to donate to My Father’s House, to help others like Diya and Ramu, both in Nepal and around the world, to experience a better quality of life through the work of BMS. Your response was extraordinary. You gave over £160,000 to enable many more poor in spirit and health to grasp the hope that has changed Ramu’s life.

To say thank you, Megan Barker has recorded this special video message to every one of you who generously gave to the My Father’s House appeal.

Thank you again for your generous giving to My Father’s House. Look out for our 2016 harvest appeal Syria’s Forgotten Families, being sent out to churches this week, for an opportunity to help Syrian refugees in Lebanon and others in desperate need around the world.
