What if? Dreaming of a better future for Albania’s Roma people
How can the Church respond to the horrible conditions in which Roma people live in Albania? That’s the question BMS World Mission workers Annie and Dan Dupree ask in this short film
When we look at a despairing situation, we have two choices: to despair as well or try to change it.
When we meet people whose hopes have been dashed again and again, we can resign ourselves to thinking that life will always be this way for them or we can resolve to act so that this time their hopes will become reality.
BMS workers Annie and Dan Dupree are daring to dream of a better future for the Roma people in Albania.
After 18 months of acclimatising to living in Tirana, the country’s capital, they have seen the awful conditions that Roma people living near them are experiencing.
It has moved their hearts, but it has also led them to ask the question: how can the Church respond to the squalor and marginalisation these people face? What if things were different?
Watch this short video to see the conditions the Roma people in Tirana are living in and to discover why Annie and Dan believe that the Church can make things better for them.
