Baptist in half marathon run for Latin American charity
A Baptist who recovered from a major prostate operation is taking part in another half marathon this weekend.
Jonathan Leeson, of Tonbridge Baptist Church is running for the second time in this Sunday’s (22 September) Tonbridge Half Marathon. His first was in 2012, his comeback year, following recovering from a major prostate operation in 2011.
Jonathan, 59, is representing the international charity Latin Link, whose members work with local churches, organisations, and communities in Latin America to help them meet the needs around them. He is the charity’s South-East Area Representative - a job that usually sees him running around between churches across the South-East of England.
He is not the only one running for the charity: Maria Heslop, 45, a Tonbridge and Malling Borough Councillor and cabinet member for Leisure and Arts is also running for Latin Link.
