Once again the Running Man

Once again the running man 05

A member of Tonbridge Baptist Church has successfully completed a half marathon just a year after undergoing a major operation.

Jonathan Leeson, 58, ran the hilly Tonbridge Half Marathon late last month in an impressive 2hrs, 35 mins and 33 seconds.

His last half marathon was in 2010, but he then had to take a break due to a major prostate operation.
Joanthan ran his first ever half marathon, representing the international charity Latin Link, in London, in 2008. He is the charity's South East Area Representative - a job that usually sees him running around between churches in the South East of England.

Once again he was raising funds for the charity, with a target of £2,500.

He said, 'It's been great running up and down the hills of Cowden, Tonbridge, Leigh and Penshurst in recent months. Bearing in mind my break from running, I was hoping to finish inside three hours, so am really pleased with the result.

'This was a steep course, so I am pleased to have done the right training.'

Latin Link is an international charity with a passion for Latin America.

Their members work with local churches and organisations to help them meet the needs around them. Find out more at latinlink.org.uk
