National Leader of the Baptist Union of New Zealand
New Zealand Baptists are looking for their next National Leader (Tumuaki-ā-motu). Their call will be to continue fostering gospel renewal in people and places, by weaving together the 250 local Baptist churches and ministries throughout New Zealand.
For the initial term of four years, based in Auckland (NZ) the National Leader shall influence and exercise a prophetic role to the NZ Baptist Movement, to build a clear and collaborative vision. They will nurture and protect the Movement’s unchanging commitments to the Gospel and the Word as proclaimed in the Bible. To lead and guide the National teams with a continued focus on raising up new pastoral and community leaders, aligning the Movement’s resources for best missional outcomes, and ensuring that Baptist churches are places where people thrive.
This person will model the Movement’s Treaty of Waitangi journey and our bi-cultural commitment, promoting respect and collaboration with the increasingly multicultural and ethnic churches and leaders. They will need to be in good standing with a Baptist Church.
They will represent the Movement publicly and will sit on the National Council (to which they will report), the Mission Council, and the Carey Baptist College Board.
Expressions of interest are accepted until 5pm Tuesday 24 June 2025 (NZST).
