Joining the dots podcast

Introducing the new Baptists Together Children, Young People and Families podcast

CYF podcastThe CYF (Children, youth and families) Round Table wants to serve our Baptist family in its calling to minister to children and young people in the church and community. You might be thinking that that doesn’t apply to you and your church - but our reading of the Great Commission is that it’s not just for those over 18!

Joining the Dots is a podcast that draws on the wisdom of experts and the experience of those on the ground to help start the conversation in exploring the context of the child, so that the dots between home, church, community, school and faith begin to join up.

It’s September, so our first series will be looking at schools and the amazing opportunities there are in helping students and staff encounter the good news in the class room, play ground and staff room. We’ll be hearing from Prayer Spaces director Phil Togwell; Susan Woolfenden who is the Pastoral Welfare Manager of a secondary school as she reflects on the trends and changes that have occurred while working in that role since 2004; and Wayne Dixon, who has been a stalwart of schools ministry, shares from his vast experience. That’s just a taster, there are several more voices that will be joining the conversation.

Listen to the podcast or hook into your own app from here on the Baptists Together website.

We really hope that the podcast will foster a sense of community amongst our churches and those that carry out this vital ministry. We’d love to hear your feedback, your thoughts for future topics and conversation partners. Please do get in touch and carry on the conversation over on our Facebook page or follow us on Instagram (@baptist_cyf)

Currently this podcast is hosted by Emma Mohr and Clare Hooper. Emma is a regional minister of South Wales Baptist Association. She is a mum of three little ones and understandably has a passion and heart for family ministry and encouraging churches to hear the voice of the child.

Clare is also a regional minister with a particular remit to support churches and pioneers in their mission with children, young people and families. She also co-ordinates the CYF input at Bristol Baptist College as one of their tutors. Emma and Clare both serve on the CYF Round Table.
