New Project Violet podcast season highlights impact on Baptist life

How Baptists are implementing the requests for change is the focus of season three of the Project Violet podcast

Project Violet undertook research on women’s experience of Baptist ministry between 2021 and 2024. The findings were released in May 2024 and included 57 requests for change.

The new series checks in with people who have been involved in implementing some of these requests, asking them about what they are doing and what impact they hope it will have.

There are also two guest episodes carrying an interview with women leading larger churches.

The first episode of season 3 drops on 23 September and then weekly.

Listen on Apple podcasts, Podbean and Spotify. You can subscribe here so you don’t miss an episode

Season 1 of the podcast explored different aspects of Project Violet, while season 2 featured short interviews with each of the researchers

In October 2024 Baptist Union Council endorsed the commitments to action made by stakeholders across Baptist life.

The implementation of these commitments continues. An accountability report will be presented to Council on 21 October 2025, celebrating the progress made and asking what more remains to be done.

See the Project Violet website for the findings, requests for change and commitments to action, alongside resources to help churches engage with the issues raised: projectviolet.org.uk
