Why should Christians care about creation? David Coffey, ex-President of the Baptist World Alliance writes in his book, Joy to the World: ‘We should care because everything we see is the handiwork of Jesus the Word. A lack of concern for creation reveals a very limited view of Jesus Christ.’

The Baptist Union is part of the Creation Challenge Network, together with the Methodist and United Reformed Churches. We have also worked with colleagues in JPIT on theological responses to climate change, and a campaign around the government’s Energy Bill.

We also have a new Baptist Union Environment Network, launched in September 2020.
