'Ensure no-one spends Christmas alone'

Premier's annual campaign to help people across the UK spend Christmas with others has launched for the sixth year

Christmas Alone

Premier's Christmas Alone encourages churches to add their Christmas Day events to an interactive map to ensure that no-one has to spend Christmas alone. While many people are occupied amid the festivities of the day with loved ones, for others it is one of the loneliest times of the year.

Loretta Andrews, presenter of Premier Drive on Premier Christian Radio, said, 'Premier believes that no one should have to spend Christmas alone, if they don’t want to. This is our sixth year running our Christmas Alone campaign. We feel it’s important to support those in times of loneliness whatever the time of year; however Christmas is unfortunately a period that can bring great sadness for people, where they feel isolated.'

It is inviting people to share information about Christmas day events for the community. In previous years, people have held events which have varied from having a Christmas meal, a sing along to a gathering of people to watch Christmas specials on TV together.

Loretta added, 'We hope and pray that our efforts to help people find a place to go on Christmas Day will help go some way to make their day a joyful one, where they too can enjoy some seasonal festivities.'

Events can be registered until 17 December, and the map will be available to search up until Christmas.
