Autumn 2020 edition:
Seeking to Listen: listening to God - listening to each other
Welcome to the autumn edition of
Baptists Together magazine, an edition that seeks to capture some of the stories and reflections across our denomination in the months of lockdown and anti-racism protests sparked by the killing of George Floyd.
We invited a range of contributors to share what they have been learning during this period of grief, upheaval and dislocation. As the pieces came in and the stories began to be told, a common theme of listening emerged: above all, the need to listen to God, as we emerge unsteadily from lockdown and into a post-pandemic world – how is he calling us in our contexts? In seeking to hear his voice, we need too to listen to others – to our communities, to those who are different from us, to those who are grieving, to each other. God is moving, and the act of listening can help us discern how to join in.
