Making space for God
Today I am heading up to the Northumbria Community for a retreat. Alongside more regular retreat days I like to get away to Northumberland for a few days each year to make space for God over a longer period.
It is challenging carving out time like this, there are always so many things to do and opportunities not to be missed, but I know I need this time and space with the Lord to be 're-calibrated'.
On my train journey I have been reflecting on John 4:34, "My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work." I am already noticing that it is HIS will and work I am supposed to be doing and not my own! I am going to be meditating further on this verse this week.
