Psalms and Hymns Support Fund

As Baptists Together we are delighted to be working alongside the Psalms and Hymns Support Fund who are also able to make grants to people in need.

The Psalms and Hymns Support Fund is a registered charity (no. 1089179) which was established in 1925.  Its aims are:
‘the relief of widows, widowers and orphans of ministers, missionaries and accredited church workers of the Baptist denomination; and the relief of retired ministers, retired missionaries and retired accredited church workers of the Baptist denomination; in all cases who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress, in such ways as the trustees think fit’.

There are six trustees, three appointed by BUGB and three by BMS World Mission.

For people who fall within the relevant categories, grants are available in various ways:

  • An initial grant of £250 to newly bereaved widows and widowers. Please note this will be sent out by our Ministries Team without any need to apply.
  • Annual grants based on income and other circumstances and
  • One-off grants for specific items at the discretion of the trustees.

Annual grants, which are intended to supplement other income, will be subject to means-testing.  A separate form will be sent if required.
