New Hope Baptist Church, Eastbourne
-
Using the opportunities that their attractive new building gives to engage in outreach to the local area
-
A lively church with a growing number of children and young people

We have now been in our new building for nearly three years. We are placed in an area that is multicultural with a mix of young and old.

We are lively church – open to the Spirit’s leading – with a growing number of children and teenagers. Prayer is an important part of any church and we hold a weekly House of Prayer each Sunday evening. In the summer months we held ‘Easy Sunday’s based on Café Church with activities for the young and thoughtful input for the older folk.
We opened a café in 2017 but didn’t have enough able volunteers to manage it. We are now open for what we call ‘Chill and Chat’ session each week, where we give free drinks and ask for a donation.
We praise God for:
-
Our attractive building that gives us so many opportunities
-
The growing number of children and especially teenagers
-
The willingness of our folk to get involved
We are praying for:
-
A Pastor to follow Freddie Brookes who will retire when a new Pastor is appointed
-
A Church Secretary
-
More of the folk in the area to be reached with the Gospel

We are taking part in the local ‘Party in the Park’ event again this year which proved so successful last year. It gave us opportunity to speak with many folk and placed us on the map.
We are very much part of The Turning in Eastbourne as we are used as a base for the monthly outreach and a good number of our folk are involved.
In July we are hosting a Freedom In Christ training event – a course that has proved life changing for some of our people.
We are very grateful for the help we are receiving from the Baptist family through Home Mission that enables us to continue with our mission.
